A group of 12 invited P.A.C.E. members from across the coastal zone came together to discuss the stark realities facing Louisiana's citizens as a result of the current coastal land loss situation. The panel was entitled 'Confronting the Coastal Realities of Coastal Communities.' The following parish officials represented their parishes in the lively and candid discussion between P.A.C.E. members: Tina Horn, Cameron Parish; Mayor Randy Roach, City of Lake Charles; Parish President Hubert Faulk, Vermilion Parish; Parish President Will Langlinais, Iberia Parish; Morgan City Mayor Tim Matte; Al Levron, Terrebonne Parish; Parish President Charlotte Randolph, Lafourche Parish; Mayor David Camardelle, Town of Grand Isle; Mayor Timothy Kerner, Town of Jean Lafitte; Parish President Benny Rousselle, Plaquemines Parish; Yarrow Etheredge, City of New Orleans; Parish President Henry 'Junior' Rodriguez, Jr., St. Bernard Parish and Parish President Aaron Broussard, Jefferson Parish.

Other participants in the daylong program included Governor Kathleen Babineuax Blanco, LSU System President William Jenkins, Governor's Advisory Commission Chairman King Milling, other Advisory Commission members and prominent coastal scientists.
